Rotarians to the Rescue Got paint, but no painters? Need scraping, but no scrapers? Who you gonna' call? Why not the volunteers from Rotary Club #33? The playground areas in the Community Care Center and St. Paul’s Park received a major touchup last week as the Rotarians put their artistic skills to the test. The playgrounds look better than ever with a fresh coat of paint on the wall, sandbox and play equipment area. “They kept me on my toes,” said Skip Kruszona, the Facilities Manager of St. Paul’s Senior Homes & Services, as the crew of volunteers easily completed the task at hand. In addition, the Rotarians made quick work of the retaining wall at the underground garage entrance of the McColl Health Center, which they chipped and repainted. “The old paint just didn’t have a chance against this crew.” St. Paul's wishes to thank Mark Allan, Pat Caughey, Patrick Goddard, Sue Honeycutt, Terri Hutton, Debi Ives, Newt Pollock, Cheryl Rhode (and her daughter, Megan), Marc Tarasuck, Peter Van Horne (and his son, Sam), and Bob Witty for brightening our facilities and making a difference in the lives of the seniors and children we serve. If you would like to volunteer at St. Paul's, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator by email or call 619-239-6900. We can always use volunteers to help out with facility improvements or interacting with our residents. |
