Supporters
St. Paul's strives to be the most innovative provider of senior services in San Diego. We also make every effort to keep our rates as low as possible. We achieve this in large part through the generous gifts from our supporters in the community. Thank you all, for your charitable gifts.
The Country Friends
Volunteers play an important role at St. Paul’s. It’s one of many ways we bring in the community at large to enhance the community within each of our facilities. To better manage our volunteer team, St. Paul’s presented a grant request to The Country Friends for the purchase of volunteer tracking software. From a gift of $3,500, St. Paul’s can now manage volunteer-related information such as qualifications and interests, match volunteers to job assignments, print out schedules, record hours worked, and recognize their valuable contributions.
Las Patronas
St. Paul’s approached Las Patronas for a grant to fund the replacement of an antiquated, inefficient, 6 ton air conditioning chiller for St. Paul’s Manor. Their generous gift of $7,300, gave St. Paul’s the means to purchase and install the chiller. Skip Kruszona, Facilities Manager for St. Paul’s, reports that we are easily saving thousands of dollars annually in operation costs, which then saves our Residents money.
Love Uniting Volunteers (LUV)
Once we informed LUV that we needed $1,400 to purchase and install a clothes washer and dryer in the adult day program, it did not take long before they made their gift. Actually, it took under an hour.
St. James Memorial Fund
St. James Memorial Fund supported a request for an upgrade to St. Paul’s McColl Health Center WanderGuard alert system. This system notifies staff when a resident at the Center attempts to leave without an escort. The previous analog system was susceptible to electronic magnetic interference to the point of triggering false alarms. Through a generous donation of $3,210, St. Paul’s was able to purchase and install the system. To date, the McColl Health Center has not had one false alarm.
The Thursday Club
St. Paul’s is licensed to provide Senior Day Services to 60 seniors. These seniors and their families experience daily respite from the challenges of their declining health. A request was presented to The Thursday Club for the purchase of a 37” HDTV for our Activity Room. Responding to our request, they donated $3,200 for the purchase of the television and cable services.
Union Bank of California
When St. Paul’s Retirement Foundation wanted to introduce interactive web pages that feature financial news, individual donor stories and the tax advantages on planned gifts, Union Bank of California responded to our proposal with a $5,000 gift to redesign and sponsor our web pages.
